The much awaited tables have been issued as part of implementation of the OROP. The Tables for Officers are placed below. The Govt letter and detailed tables can be downloaded from  http://www.desw.gov.in/sites/upload_files/desw/files/pdf/2016.02.03-OROP.pdf . The letter and the tables is a large pdf file of about 15 Mb. It has 195 pages incl 101 Appendices of various tables covering all aspects.

Look for the figure under your Rank and against the Number of years of actual service i.e., the QS mentioned in your PPO. Your service more than 3 months is to be counted as half year and less than 3 months is ignored.

This is your basic pension wef 01 July 2014. Now deduct from this your current basic pension the difference will be your hike in pension for OROP. You will get arrears in 4 instalments for the period starting 01 July 2014.

Multiply the above derived difference by Maths Constant of "40.53"  (INCREASE X 40.53 = Arrears) you will get the arrears receivable up to 31 JAN 2016. Similarly the total increase monthly as of date can be calculated by multiplying the increase/difference by 2.19 which is the current DA.

Amrut Fusion Single Malt Whisky has to be one of the great whiskies found anywhere in the word this decade. The fact that it is Indian is irrelevant; from distillation to maturation this is a classic whisky from whichever continent.

Amrut bottles all its products at 50% ABV, except for its peated version which is bottled at a massive 62.1% ABV and will never be seen in India. That's because the Indian laws do not permit bottling over 42.8% or 75 proof. Even Amrut Fusion, a 50% ABV malt (87.5 proof) is watered down to 75 proof, diluting its taste somewhat at 42.8% ABV.  

Amrut Fusion Single Malt Whisky gets its name from the fact that it uses two barley mashes: 75% six-row Indian and 25% two-row Scottish barley – with the latter being peated. It comes from Amrut Distilleries, the Bangalore-based company which introduced the first SM from India to the UK in 2004. Amrut Fusion is probably a 4 year old whisky, perhaps a month or two more.

Amrut’s Indian barley comes from Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan, and  distillation takes place in the tropical garden city of Bangalore at 3000’ AMSL. Lightly peated barley mash from Scotland is also distilled in Bangalore and both are matured there separately. After they have reached their peak, the two whiskies are married in bourbon casks in proportions which give both a subtle peat flavour and a rich fruity flavour from the Indian barley. This is bottled at 50% ABV to reflect the depth and finish of the whisky. This rare combination of Indian and Scottish elements means Fusion has a really excellent mouthfeel and palate, combining oak, a hint of vanilla, fruit and the sublime peat. 

It was rated the third best single malt whisky in the world by the King of Experts, Jim Murray! The public agreed, because when Fusion was launched in June 2009, the first consignment was sold out within few weeks of its release. The next batch was completely pre-ordered before it even reached the UK.

Nosing &Tasting Notes:

Colour: Golden Yellow

 

Nose : Heavy, oaky and complex: some unusual barley-sugar notes here clouded in mild smoke. Six-row barley influence? Big, yet enticingly tender. Unique.

Taste : The delivery builds up to a piledriver! The fuzzy smoke on the nose becomes mildly peaty, with some vanilla and sherry, strange since sherry butts are not in its production line-up. Custard apple; oaky vanilla hammers home that barley - fruitiness to make for a bit of a free-for-all; but for extra good measure, the flavours develop into a really intense chocolate fudge middle which absolutely resonates through the palate. Adding six drops of water to one Large liberates floral attributes and waxiness in about 7-8 minutes. 

Finish : A slight struggle here as the mouthfeel gets a bit puffy here with the dry peat and oak; enough molassed sweetness to see the malt through to a satisfying end, though. Above all the spices, rather than lying down and accepting their fate, rise up and usher this extraordinary whisky to its exit.

Most of us spend around one third of our lives sleeping. That is based on the idea that, on average, people get about 8 hours of sleep each and every night. Start by placing the tip of your tongue against the area of tissue right behind your upper front teeth, and it should stay there all throughout this entire exercise. Exhale at all times through your mouth and people have found that it can help if you try pursing your lips slightly. Begin by exhaling completely through your mouth, expelling the air with a whoosh sound. Then close your mouth and without making a sound inhale through your nose for a count of four. After that, hold your breath for a count of seven seconds and then you can exhale completely through your mouth, again making a whoosh sound and to a count of eight. All that should have been one complete breathe cycle and the exhalation part should have taken you twice as long as the inhalation portion. Repeat the process for three more cycles and a total of four breaths.

Dr. Weil describes this breathing exercise as a “natural tranquilizer for the nervous system.” It only gets stronger and more effective with repeated practice. You should aim to do it twice a day, whether it is to relieve tension, stress, upsetting events, or when you’re trying to fall asleep. Anyone and everyone can benefit from the measured breathing technique because it makes you mindful and focused on your breathing, rather than on the stress or thoughts that are keeping you up at night.

58 MPs SEEK IMPEACHMENT OF GUJARAT HC JUDGE

A distinguished Parsi judge of the Gujarat High Court, Justice J B Pardiwala made the following remarks in his recent judgement in Hardik Patel case on Reservations. Unfortunately our law makers are going to impeach him for this para. What did he say that triggered the impeachment motion by 58 Congress MPs in the Rajya Sabha?

"If I am asked by anyone to name two things, which has destroyed this country or rather, has not allowed the country, to progress in the right direction, then the same is, (i) Reservation and (ii) Corruption. It is very shameful for any citizen of this country to ask for reservation after 65 years of independence. When our Constitution was framed, it was understood that the reservation would remain for a period of 10 years, but unfortunately, it has continued even after 65 years of independence. The biggest threats, today, for the country is corruption. The countrymen should rise and fight against corruption at all levels, rather than shedding blood and indulging in violence for Reservation. Reservation has only played the role of an amoeboid monster sowing seeds of discord amongst the people. The importance of merit, in any society, cannot be understated. The merit stands for a positive goal and when looked at instrumentally, stands for “rewarding those actions that are considered good”. Then, this instrumental nature of merit that should be given importance – emphasizing on and rewarding merit is a means towards achieving what is regarded as good in the society. The parody of the situation is that India must be the only country wherein some of the citizens crave to be called backward."

Weeks after the Supreme Court scrapped the National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) Act, BJP member Udit Raj had targeted the judge in the Lok Sabha. Pardiwala had made the remarks on December 1 while quashing the charge of ‘waging war against government’ against Patel quota stir leader Hardik Patel and retaining the one of sedition. An impeachment motion has to be passed by a two­ thirds majority of members present and voting. It has to be moved by a minimum of 100 Lok Sabha members or 50 Rajya Sabha members.

Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, Pravin Rashtrapal said, ” a meeting of Dalit community was called on December 12 in Ahmedabad in which all party members remained present. A decision was taken in this meeting that the Judge should face impeachment motion for comparing corruption with reservation system.”
